Hareyama Hatoko, a junior high school student who everyone calls Poppo, lives in Shiawase-so, an apartment owned by her mother. The residents of Shiawase-so are all fun people, including the cool ronin student Hayato, the father and daughter Mizusawa who are aspiring to be manga artists, and the single mother Midori.
