On his first day moving to his new home, Morio Kishida meets a somewhat mysterious girl, Sho Tendou, who shows him around her school, where he meets Dr. Cappore, a scientist who calls himself a practical physicist. The doctor is Sho's grandfather, and Morio, a young scientist, immediately hits it off with the doctor. Whenever a problem arises, Morio uses the doctor's invention, but there is something missing about that invention.
