He was wandering around with his tiger Bagi when he was picked up by a man named Garyuusai, and together, they traveled to Japan. Over the next few years, with no memory of his time in Ming China, Kaiji was taught the skills of an assassin by Garyuusai and became a member of the Shadow Dragons.
