あらすじ

Sumeragi Hotsuma, the blind "Sound Master," can kill Japanese demons with only the "sounds" made by the ring in his hand. His partner is high school student, Hiragi Ranku, adept at the strongest martial art, "Sappo" and blessed with the courage to fight any foe with her bare hands. A surprise, perhaps, that their enemies are "gods." Their battle takes place in Okinawa, a mystical island that protects Japan from evil gods and demons. This is a strange tale, which relates the mysterious history of Okinawa, myths from around the world and other world events with very precise imagery. Here exists a very, very strange world of fiction. The title, Narai Kanai means "Paradise" in the Okinawan dialect. In Okinawa, there is an island where the dead go to find eternal peace. Can Hotsuma and Ranku save Japan and provide these wandering souls with eternal peace?
