あらすじ

In the peaceful and lush paradise of Ehre, the "bride" chosen by the gods every 11 years is the object of every girl's admiration. This time, the ninth "bride" chosen is the tomboyish Elise. Elise is taken to the temple dedicated to the god "King of the Forest" and begins her training as a "bride." Meanwhile, Elise's lover, Lyon, is told by his father, the chieftain, that he must never see Elise again now that she has become the "bride." Suspicious that Elise is different from the previous "brides," Lyon investigates the ninth "bride" and learns that Elise is to be sacrificed for the prosperity of Ehre. Unable to accept this, Lyon tries to escape with Elise but is caught and banished to Ehre, a place said to be hell on earth. As punishment, Elise was imprisoned in the temple. When she learned that Lyon had been exiled, she escaped from the temple to follow him. However, shortly afterward, it was revealed that Elise had been chosen as the "King of the Forest," and Zadias, the overseer in charge of the temple, also set off outside of Ehre to follow Elise. Following Leon, Elise arrives in an outside city, where she is captured after being discovered as the "Bride." She is rescued by a young man named Van, who tells her the truth and legends surrounding the "Bride"—that whoever obtains the "Bride" will have the world at their fingertips. Even knowing that she herself is being hunted, Elise continues to act in her desire to reunite with Leon. As if drawn by fate, people bearing a mysterious geometric mark somewhere on their bodies—the symbol of Ehre's sacred writing—begin to gather before her.
