Synopsis

Gengo Matsunaga, known as "The Fire-Eating Bird," Edo's greatest firefighter, retired from firefighting due to a certain incident. He and his wife, Miyuki, were living as impoverished ronin. Suddenly, he received an offer of employment from the Dewa Shinjo Domain—"We want you to save Edo once again as the head of the fire brigade." Determined to protect lives from the numerous "suspicious fires" plaguing Edo, Gengo decides to become a firefighter again. He rebuilds the fire brigade, which is on the verge of collapse and ridiculed as the "Raggedy Firemen's Group," and confronts the raging inferno to protect Edo and lives!!
