Synopsis

A large coming-of-age story depicting the life of the main character, Go Rokupei, through junior high school, high school, ronin, and university, until he decides to become a doll maker. An immortal masterpiece that vividly depicts the growth of a naive Hakata kid through love, fights, and heart-to-heart contact with people. The troubles that everyone faces in adolescence and various problems are expressed, and it was accepted by readers outside Hakata and became a big hit. The customs, traditions, and history of Hakata are also included, and it is characterized by content that can be said to be an introduction to Hakata studies. The same title song by the band Tulip from the same town also appears in the work. "Manga Action" (Futabasha) serialized from 1976 to 1983. In 1978, it was made into a movie by director Nakao Sone.
