Synopsis

"The Pillow Book is a fashionably crappy diary, and I can't write stories about happy couples." Murasaki Shikibu writes "The Tale of Genji" with the sleeves of her twelve-layered ceremonial kimono rolled up, her hem in disarray, and her hair swinging wildly. With no interest in money or honor, what is the purpose of Shikibu's perseverance? And what is the unknown model of Hikaru Genji?! A slapstick Heian comedy is about to begin!
