Synopsis

A new kind of jidaigeki (period drama) action series, reconstructing the legendary masterpiece of “the strongest”! The Edo era, on the eve of the Bakumatsu, under the Tenpō era name. Inflation, rice shortages, political corruption, epidemics… In a world where common people suffer, a swordsman who has lost his sight and an Akita dog journey together in pursuit of “justice” and “strength.” Where did they come from, and where are they heading? At the end of their path, will they find light—or darkness? The young talent Fusai Naba, known for ALIENS AREA and Kyokuto Necromance, reconstructs the immortal classic Zatōichi Monogatari (by Kan Shimosawa)! A completely new Zatōichi is born here!
