Synopsis

Koharu, a courtesan at Kinokuniya, falls in love with a regular customer, Jihei, a paper shop, and rumors spread that she is refusing other customers, and is scolded by the hostess and is worried. She has no money to ransom her, she is poor, but she loves him with her life. Koharu receives a letter from Jihei asking her to die with him the next time they meet. And then her fateful day...
