Synopsis

Sports journalist Tachibana visits the training camp of the Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball, where he meets Soichiro, a Japanese player intent on being promoted to the majors. Coach Howard, seeing Soichiro's pitches, lack power but excellent control, has him play in an intrasquad game, which also doubles as a test for promotion to the majors. Soichiro joins a team on the verge of being fired, desperate to make it if they don't get promoted. Meanwhile, his opponents are a team that's sure to make it to the majors, including super rookie Yoshida, who joined the Dodgers this year...
