Synopsis

In a world where “grotesqueries” attack humanity, civilization has advanced, and with the establishment of the anti-grotesquerie “Ninety-ninth”, the creatures have become a manageable disaster. Tanizaki, a man who can get by reasonably well anywhere thanks to his resourcefulness, was working as an office worker at a stable company. One day, Tanizaki encounters Shiba, a former classmate who always studied. Shiba is working for Ninety-ninth, the organization Tanizaki once admired——.
